I want to take the time to thank all who have read the story so far and enjoyed it! There is lots more to come. A total of 26 episodes. So I still have my work cut out for me. But as I told Spike, I got hooked rather recently seeing VanDread for the first time 2 months ago, then buying the DVD's (talk about hard to find).
In all this is by far the best Anime series I have seen to date, I hope these stories give you as much enjoyment as they are for me to write them. Please feel free to e-mail me with feedback or even requests and I will see what I can do with the story J!!
Episode 5:
Anywhere but here
We find Magno, Jin and Meia in the meeting room sitting around the table.
Jin nods to Meia: I understand. I will do what I can, but he will have to agree first. In the meantime the doctor is making preparations for the procedure.
Meia nods then somewhat uncertain then sighs: This is all happening so fast. But I will do it.
Magno with a smile: That young boy sure has changed our lives since we first met. I doubt anyone would even have thought anything like this would ever happen.
Meia looking at Magno with a softness touching her face: I know this is not the answer you all were looking for, but if I am to have a baby, then I will only do it if Hibiki is the father....
Cut to the Bridge
B.C. looking up from her consol in the captains chair: Celtic, do you have a bearing yet?
Celtic is calm and reading her instruments: Nothing yet captain. We still have no reference to where we are. But it is only a matter of time.....There I found something.
A map appears on the bridge view screen and the position of the Nirvana is indicated by a small pulsing circle on the map. Then the map de-magnifies to show the worlds of Tarak and Majere.
Celtic now a little nervous: According to these readings we are really far away from our home Captain.
Ezra holding baby Kahlua punches a few keys with her free hand then exclaims: Captain according to this it will take 14 years to get back to Majere space!!
B.C. exclaims in shock: what?? How can this be?
Rebecca looking at the map and understanding begins to seep into her: It would seem the Peacsis can go anywhere it wants. Distance is irrelevant to it. It is almost like it chose this place to show us something. Why else would we be here?
B.C. understanding now too: Hmmm you are right Rebecca, but what are we supposed to see way out here? Bart Volore, get up here! We need to go!
Both Bart and Volore answer in unison on separate view screens: roger!
Cut to the Cafeteria with Jura, Parfet, Barnette, Misty, Paiway, Goscognue, Duero, General Kyunmel, several of the new men, Dita and Pyoro all sitting at various tables eating their meals.
The men are all seated at 2 tables and eating the female cooking and enjoying it immensely. Duero is with them as is General Kyunmel
One man: My gosh this is absolutely fabulous, I can not get enough!
Another man: You got that right, I am already eating my 4th plate!
Others agree and are eating like it was their last meal.
At the table Jura, Barnette, Paiway, Dita and Pyoro are gathered..
Jura suspiciously asks Dita while picking at her food trying to pin point what is different about Dita: Dita you are glowing today, what has changed about you?
Dita blushes slightly and puts some food in her mouth: uhh nothing really Jura
Pyoro beams and says rather loudly: Dita and Hibiki made love last night!! Pyoro!
As one EVERYONE is chocking on their food and a united WHAT!!! Erupts from everyone.
Goscognue amused: Hehe, he finally grew up eh? I thought he would never get a clue!
Barnette looking quite silly and flushed: you and Hibiki Dita?
Misty blushes and Q turns into a pulsing heart: Oh my Dita, you sure HAVE grown up!!
Jura cries: NO WAY!!! I wanted to be the first!!!
Paiway frantically looking for something: I need to do a Pai-check!! (then realizes she gave that up long ago resigns and sighs)
Duero shocked and looking over his shoulder at Dita at the news: hmmm
All the men are having trouble as many are trying to wash the food down with glasses of water. The General is coughing badly.
Dita beams with a blushing smile and nods at Barnette: mmm-hmmm
In the background Jura is going on about not being the first and how unfair life is. And how everyone is against her.
Barnette still looking silly and embarrassed: How do you feel Dita? I mean, uhh I don't know what to ask....
Dita still filled with joy: I feel great Barnette, I have never felt like this before, I just can not put it into words. When we joined it was like nothing words can describe!!
At her outburst yet another wave of coughs and gasps erupt from all present and just about everyone is shocked by the news.
At which point enters innocent Hibiki into the cafeteria. He stops and scratches his head looking around at the commotions confused: Hey what is going on here? Why is everyone chocking on their food?? Is it spoi.....
He then sees all eyes on him with many faces in full blush, then he eyes Dita who is in a full run at him and cries out with passion: HIBIKI!!
Startled Hibiki tries to back pedal but Dita is too quick and plants a full wet kiss on him.
Trying to get her off of him: Will you stop that already!!! Sheesh!
Looking around Hibiki notices the cafeteria is empty of most people except his friends: Hey where did they all go? Did I say or do something?
Duero approaches: I think you did something, at least that is what Dita says about last night.
Hibiki now embarrassed and in full blush then blurts out to Dita: HUH? What? What did you tell them you idiot! (Then Hibiki realizes exactly what was said) NO WAY you did not tell them THAT??? YOU IDIOT!!
Dita looking a little confused and saddened: I, Uh,....
Misty defiantly with Q on her shoulder: actually it was Pyoro, but that is no reason to call your lover an idiot you idiot!!
Goscognue with narrowed eyes leaning in on Hibiki pointing an accusing finger: Where do you get off being so mean to Dita like that!
Paiway with her frog: Yeah you are being really mean to Dita!! Rib bit, rib bit!
Duero steps in:, but in any case, I need both you and Dita down in the medical center so I can run a few tests....
Before Duero can finish Hibiki now in full blush from the words spoken to him by Misty turns to Pyoro and with a quick leap is on Pyoro: Why you!! I am going to tear you limb from limb and make sure you keep that big mouth of your shut!!
Pyoro in panic: SAVE ME!!!!
Goscognue, Barnette, Misty, and Jura are holding Hibiki back while Pyoro hides behind Parfet and Dita, who is looking rather sad...
Hibiki trying to get away from the girls to get at Pyoro sees Dita with her bowed head looking very sad.
Hibiki looking at Dita: Well what are you sad for??
Dita with a sad voice: I don't know why, I just thought, well, I thought....you would be happy about last night.
Now all eyes are on Hibiki who is looking for a way to escape this very uncomfortable position, but all paths are blocked by his friends.
Hibiki now flustered: Oh dammit! Why does this always have to be so complicated.
Misty with an angry Q on her shoulder: Hibiki Tokai you should apologize to Dita and kiss and make up right now!!
Jura adding to the situation: That is right...that is no way a man should treat his woman!
After all, you 2 are going to have a baby!!
Jura is now extremely happy with that thought, Barnette on the other hand looks at Jura: I give up sigh...
Dita thinking and then realizes: A baby? Me? Oh my.....
And suddenly Dita runs away leaving all her friends in shock and wonder.....
Hibiki still shocked and mumbling as his eyes roll up into his head: a a a a a a BABY???
Hibiki passes out.
Pyoro beams: Pyoro 3!!!!
Cut to Bart and Volore in the navigation consol both naked again. The stars are flying by them as the Nirvana is on course of unknown destination.
Bart amazed: So Hibiki and Dita finally did it eh?
Volore somewhat embarrassed: Is that all you can do is gossip and brag?
Bart defiantly: Well it does pass the time in here. I have no clue what we are looking for and where to search.
Volore now in a kind tone: I understand. The Captain said we would know it when we see it. But it does get boring in here.
Volore now with a slight blush: You know you really are not a bad guy after all, once people get to know you.
Bart now embarrassed with a blush: uhhh well, I really do not get a chance to mix much with the crew being in here. You are the first person I have actually gotten to talk to on this ship, but then I guess you have no choice huh?
Volore smiles: It is ok. I do not really mind now. The shock of the first time has worn off and what we are doing is important. Now that I cannot be the dread Team leader and Jura was promoted, I guess I am kind of stuck here, but that gives me a chance to observe and understand men first hand right?
Bart misunderstanding what Volore said: yeah I guess, sigh, I am sorry you are stuck here with me, I guess if it had been Duero or Hibiki in here instead of me you would have been better off....
Volore laughs: you silly man. You think too little of yourself. You are not half bad once you take away that false bravado of yours. Just be yourself for once!
Bart now smiling a little nervous: You are right, I guess I do try too hard to make people like me. I will be myself from now on!!
Cut to Dita running through the halls
A baby? Me? I......I don't know!! How can I become a mother? Am I ready to be a parent? And...and is Hibiki ready too?
I grew up all alone with no one to really watch after me. Do I know what it takes to be a parent when I had none myself? This is so confusing.
Dita stops running and places both hands on her stomach looking down at it: I don't know...But I do love Hibiki and I know he loves me!
Then smiling: If we both love each other and we are together, then it will be all right!! Together we will cherish this child!
Dita nods with a smile and then walks down the hall....
Cut to Hibiki's room. Hibiki is sitting on his bed slumped.
Man this is all going so fast! Me a parent? I mean I never really gave it any thought really. Can I even be a good parent? I am barely old enough to understand what is going on around me now.
Sigh!!
A white flash and Hibiki fins himself in the Peacsis again.
A figure of Magno appears: Why is Hibiki sad?
Hibiki at first startled then slumps: I am going to be a parent I think, at least the Doctor says maybe, but he is not sure yet.
Magno repeats: Why is Hibiki sad?
Hibiki now annoyed: Didn't you hear what I just said?
Magno: It is your destiny. It is your proof of your existence Hibiki Tokai!
Hibiki looks at Magno: huh? But...but what if I am a bad parent? What if everything I do is wrong?
Magno: you are not alone Hibiki Tokai....look to Dita, she is your heart's guide!
Hibiki now back in his room thinks on this and slowly comprehends: that is right! Dita and I always make thing work out, why should this be any different. This may not be a fight, but in a way it is. She and I will do ok I think! Man! I am going to be a dad hehe.
Cut to the medical center Meia is alone as Hibiki enters
Hibiki enters and looks around: Hey where is the doctor?
Meia is sitting on the bed and looks nervous: I called you here because I need to talk to you and the doctor left to give us some privacy.
Hibiki now suspicious: Privacy? For what?
Meia now unsure where to begin has a slight blush in her face: Well uhh, I do not know how to say this so I will just come out and say it Hibiki. I was asked to have a baby so that we can study the joining of man and female DNA.
Hibiki now shocked: WHAT? What is going on this ship? Everyone is having babies?? And what does you having a baby have to do with me???
Meia looks up at Hibiki still with a blush: Well I at first balked at the idea and was furious they even suggested it. But then I remembered back when you and the others stuck me with Kahlua. Back then I knew I wanted a child, one I could give my love and affection to. But it has to be with a man and there is no one I would trust that to more than you Hibiki....
Hibiki in full blush now fully in shock and unable to fully comprehend Meia's words: ME??? You want to have a baby with me?
Meia looking down now somewhat defeated: well it would be Majeran style of course...The doctor would simply takes some of your DNA and splices it with mine...
Hibiki now completely flustered: There is no way I am having a child with you Meia, it just is not going to happen, I already have my hands full with Dita and now you...
From the back of the room a silent voice says: But you have to Hibiki
Hibiki and Meia both look at Dita in surprise who is standing still and watching them both.
Dita goes on somberly: we all were touched by the Peacsis,. You, Meia, Jura and me. We all have a strong bond that cannot be explained. I know I may be carrying our child Hibiki. But I think if Meia wants a child then you should be the donor. It only makes sense.
Meia shocked by the news of Dita carrying Hibiki's child: What? You are pregnant Dita? How??
Hibiki now totally lost: What is with you women? I am probably going to be a father and now you want me to be the father of 2? With 2 different women??? Are you nuts? Both of you?
Dita looking at Meia unsure holding her hands to her stomach: Well the doctor is not sure yet. He said it would be a few weeks before we knew for sure. But it happened last night in my room....
Meia blushes at the thought them, looking very uneasy: Dita I am sorry, I did not know. Hibiki please forget I asked.
Dita now firmly: No! Meia, you were right to ask Hibiki. I love him dearly and I know in a way you love him too!
Meia looks at Hibiki and blushes and looks away..
Dita goes on: but I know in my heart this is the right thing to do. I feel a little jealousy, but I also feel like you are my sister Meia and Hibiki is well...............Hibiki, you cannot help but love him!
Dita smiles: Hibiki I want you to be her donor please....
Meia uncomfortable then an uneasy smile crosses her face: Thank you Dita!
Dita and Meia hug with smiles.....
Hibiki now totally confused as to what just happened, but knows somehow he was involved in some sort of understanding between Dita and Meia: uhh guys what just happened? Do I get a say in this at all?? (Hibiki looks defeated and sighs)..
New Scene Cut to medical room with Duero, Hibiki, Dita, Paiway and Meia
Duero in his monotonous voice examining Meia: That should do it then...
Paiway with her frog: Did it hurt Meia. (Then in her frog voice) I mean to be injected with a man's DNA that is rib bit, rib bit..
Meia with a smile: Not at all, in fact I really felt nothing.
Duero: Well in any case I need you and Dita to come here regularly for check ups to make sure all goes smooth. We do not know yet if either of you are pregnant. We will have to wait and see if the seed takes hold and grows.
Meia sitting up and rubs her neck smiles: thank you doctor
Dita happy: Oh Meia I am so happy for you. Now we both can watch each other and help one another though this!
Hibiki glum: Man I am going to be a dad twice over...sigh! How did I get into this?
Cut to the Navigation consol where we find Volore and Bart tired, but working hard, searching for what they are looking for....
Bart looking worse for wear: Man I am tired, we have been at this now for what seems like forever....
Volore too tired to really care suddenly sees something. A flash of some kind coming from a nearby Asteroid field.: Bart over there (she points in the direction)
Bart now alert looks over in the direction: hmmm I see the flashes, lets take a look.
As the Nirvana moves closer to the asteroid field, both Volore and Bart start to make out smaller ships zipping from asteroid to asteroid. Suddenly like a swarm they all stop and faced the Nirvana and as one move towards the ship...
Bart now exclaims in fright: AHHH They saw us!
Volore looking grim: Get a hold of yourself Bart!! We cannot panic now! Get ready to fire!
Bart still frightened: I wish they never saw us!!
Volore still with a grim expression: same here....
Suddenly as if in answer to their wish the Nirvana comes to a complete halt and starts to fade in space, till she is no longer seen. The approaching ships suddenly stop and start facing all directions as if searching for something.
Bart now confused: What the hell? Why did they stop? And why did we stop???
Volore equally confused: I do not know..it is as if they can not see us!! (then smiles) you know when we put our minds together things do seem to happen for the good!
Cut to the bridge
B.C. on the bridge in her chair: Bart! Volore! Why are we stopped??
Ezra in an excited voice: Captain the enemy ships have stopped.
Volore's face appears on the screen: I do not know Captain, but Bart and I both wished we had not been seen by the enemy cubes and we stopped moving, then they too stopped like they could not see us
Celtic: Captain! Beyond the asteroids! There are so many Earth Harvesters Mother Ships and I am reading 2 huge objects!
B.C. agitated now: Put it on the screen
Ezra replies: roger Captain..
A screen appears on the Nirvana Bridge and shows literally hundreds of Mother ships sitting amongst the numerous asteroids. In the Center is what looks to be a Moon sized machine. From its center you see a Mother Ship emerging slowly.
All along the asteroids other machines like ships are flying to and from the huge device depositing their contents into the, what can now be surmised, as a factory.
The other device not too far away, somewhat smaller but still large enough to hold at least 3 Mother ships suddenly comes to life. A glowing energy field is at its center and a mother ship enters and just as suddenly the Mother ship and energy field are gone.
B.C. in deep thought: hmmmm
Parfet comes on the view screen excited: Captain I have been going over these reading and it looks like the Big one is a factory, and the other is some sort of transportation device.
B.C. startled out of her thought: A transportation device?
Parfet continues: Yes it seems that when the device is active and a ship enters, it is sent to a preset destination. But I have not finished analyzing how it actually works, I would need to get much closer to the device itself to understand it fully.
B.C. nods to Parfet: Ok Parfet, keep working on it and keep me up to date.
B.C. stares at the 2 monstrous machines in wonder: Is this the Earth staging area? Or are there more like this? What hope do we have against so many?
B.C. lost in thought never notices Magno standing behind her. Magno frowns looking at B.C.
