Death and Hope

Reccomendation:read My DAd The Vandread Pilot before this
A loud roar of engine started on the humongous ship.It is time for departure. The beautiful ship formerly known as Nirvana had to go out again. This time without any conflict between man and woman. This time no more fooling around. The cheerful atmosphere of the ship now named United Tarraku-Mejerru War Fleet has gone. This time every bit of Taraaku and Mejerru joined in the battle.
This time it's revenge
Precisely it has been two days plus 700 minutes.
Hibiki and Dita died.
****
Sapphire-eyed and beautiful she glanced at the office. Still stern and aloof but stronger.Cold-blooded and such a vision. Meia Gisborn. Starting as a DREAD pilot she rose through the ranks to become the greatest DREAD commander the pirate-boss Magno has ever seen. Cold and never caring she was at those times. Icily maneuvering merciless attacks upon the enemy, leaving no soft spot at all.She was the greatest.
But she was lonely.
She was hurt.
She was misunderstood.
And she was still struggling with her past.
That is until, the men came aboard the ship.Until a reckless, coward pilot changed her. His dirty words may not seem understanding. His choice of talk may seem like a bubble-burst.
She never forgot about it.
He was reckless.
He was stupid
He was inexperienced.
Yet he never gave up. He believed in tomorrow.
He believed.
He had faith.
Meia slammed her fist onto the wall. Her tears flowed down to the photograph she was holding. It was him and a red-haired girl. Both of them smiling toward the camera, posing like idiots.
She helped her also.
She was innocent.
She was stupid.
But she has courage.
She had faith
She never gave up.
Another drop of tear rolled down her cheeks and fell to the photograph again. Those two were good people. Those two ...
Why did they have to die?
She often questioned God. Of His existence and power. How is it that so many people she believed, trusted and loved had to die. Like her Oma and Fama. Like Magno. Like Dita. Like Barnette. Like Jura. Like Hibiki. Those who help her. Those who accepted her. Those who knew her. Those people. Why?
*knock*
She quickly brushed off her tears and hid the photograph.
"Come in!", she commanded with her authoritarian voice.
"Oi,oi,what's up with the stiff act?"
It was Gascogne.Yes. All hopes are not really lost are they?
"Autie Meia, everyone in the bridge is waiting for you."
She froze at that voice. She recognizes it very well.
"Auntie Meia?"
Yeah. Hibiki and Dita may be dead. But we may accomplish thi mission sucessfully. Hopefully. If hopes do exist. But they are the living proof of their parents aren't they? They are trained combat pilots aren't they? This time Meia will make sure that Erath will get what they really deserve. With the help of all new and old crew, they will do it. For the people of Taraaku and Mejerru. For Hibiki and Dita.
She turned around and put on her usual icy mask.
"Assembled all crew?"
"Hai."
"Bridge crew all systems go?"
"Hai!"
"All Vanguards and Dread checked?"
"HAI!"
"Eva, is your brother --Adam whacked yet today?"
Eva, Hibiki and Dita's daughter giggled. "Nope. And that's a darn good one Auntie."
"I HEARD THAT!", shouted Adam.
Meia gave the girl one of her rare smiles and marched to the bridge with GAscogne. Gascogne is still the same old Gascogne, except older and maybe more wise.
"Smile,eh?"
Meia put off her mask away. Her left eye started to brim with tears. She forced herself to grin .
"Can't let the kids be sad anymore. It's really heavy on them."
"Hey, we all understand.", said Gasco. She patted Meia's back. "Let it out , okay?So we all can se you smile, smile and smile."
There was silence. No sound were made. But tears started to fall down frenzily. Drop by drop it wets the floor. But she kept on going.
There's still hope, Meia.
There still is.
