7 1/2 months went by uneventful... Mantis was glad to get some peace and quiet for a change. He was given the position tactics analyst due to his ability to think extremely fast... But... Several people were curious as to why he was so odd... Lets take a dive into the past shall we?


6700 years ago...

Mantis's life began on the outskirts of the Vandread Universe. He was manufactured as a Security Bot for the Hedthenons (Hee-Deth-ah-nons), A race of aliens that had the capabilities to travel to other universes. It was just another security assignment to protect a shipment of parasitic animals for use in a raging war that was happening at the center of the universe. He thought that it would be easy for him and his comrades to defend it... because the enemy... A Hedthenon cult called the Crombie... had no particular foot hold in the sector of space he was in. But as soon he began to relax... The vessel carrying the shipment was attacked...

Mantis: All units! We are Now on Red Alert! *static due to weapon discharge* Bring the specimens up front! Converge Converge!!

Clutch: Here they come!!

Bozo: Mantis! They're bringing up the rear!

Landri: Incoming grenade!

System Announcer: All Personnel Report To The Escape Pods Immediately!

*static due to weapon discharge*

Bozo: Holy Shit! What the hell was that?!

Landri: *static* Heavy *static* Many.. Targets!*static*

*Mantis attempts to get Landri out of the fire fight between the Crombie Soldiers and Plasma turrets*

Mantis: Crap! She's Dead!

Clutch: Forget Her! We gotta get the specimens back to the ship!

Bozo: *weapon discharge in the back ground* Shit! We got Laser Crombies!

*multiple weapon discharges*

Clutch: Quick! Theres the Escape Pods!

*sound from a large door hatch opening*

Clutch: Oh Crap INCOMING!!!

*Very Large Explosion, Probably from some sort of highly explosive grenade*

Mantis: Clutch!! NOO!

Bozo: The Escape pod! Its been blown right out of the hatch! And Clutch With it!

System Announcer: Warning! Hull Breach! Activating Life Support Shields...

Mantis: Bozo! Berserker mode! NOW!

Bozo: Roger

*Several moments of a fight between multiple guns and huge monsters*

*very loud static, Probably the system recorder being hit by a random discharge*

The Crombie Were a force to be reckoned with... If they couldn't convert you.. they killed you... Bozo was captured and converted. Mantis escaped by ejecting himself out into space, and surviving in stasis mode.. There are drawbacks to Stasis Mode though... All Normal functions shut down in Stasis... All except the Primitive side... The resulting torment of horrid dreams twisted Mantis's mind inside out... Giving him a unique and unusual personality... He floated out into space for 3 years before being recovered by a wandering Crombie Scavenger Ship... He wasn't reactivated until he was sold on the interstellar black market several times... He learned about the Crombie's and their plans for universal domination... He was bought and sold for very high prices... One Retired Crombie Attempted to tinker with his systems... But found out that Mantis was Extremely tired of being sold around as goods... He escaped and returned to the Hedthenon HQ and reported his findings. As a result he was given many upgrades, which happened to be a kind of currency for robots of his kind. Happy and sort of content he was assigned a mission to watch over a planet... Called Earth...

But things went back from good to bad again as his ship had an engine problem and he crashed down onto the planet... Knocked into a coma... A Hiker found his wrecked ship up high in the rocky mountains. He brought him back to a nearby city. The Hiker thought him to be a damaged droid that were just becoming popular on earth... He sold him to some robotics scientists. They tinkered with his systems and found several discoveries... They copied the Hedthenon technology and upgraded droids all around the world... One scientist thought they should be more human like... and eventually monopolized the art of Androids... or Artificial Human Cyborgs... Mantis was soon revived after several years of hard work by the scientists... when he came to... He was in the middle of a warzone!!! Mantis soon found out that several Humanitarian Purists disagreed violently and tried to ban all androids... Mantis immediately escaped from the lab and tried to seek shelter... But there were Purists were roaming the streets destroying all his fellow machines! He soon found shelter at an abandoned army bunker that housed many misfit androids that had escaped... There he met a female android ,Fail-Water, who had founded this shelter for androids... Mantis fell in love almost immediately. He soon adopted earth ways and currency... He and Fail-Water managed to run smuggling operations so they could survive... with Mantis's superior firepower and internal systems they managed to survive... Until One day... when the Purists found out...

Mantis was protecting the cargo truck that Fail-Water was driving... when a purist group found them.... They began running bombing runs all over the bunker in planes... This caused major havoc inside the bunker... A stray shot blew up the truck and Fail-Water with it... Mantis attempted to pull her from the wreckage... But She was already dead... Mantis lost it completely... This immense emotional pain caused a kill-all system to activated deep in his mind... The entire group was annihilated... Mantis with his new found powers managed to escape earth and return to the Hedthenon home planet... There he used the technology there to travel to another universe so he could rest... But the converted Bozo followed him and eventually forced him back to the vandread universe where Bozo attempted many times to destroy him.. All through the time this was happening... The entire Vandread story line took place... The Android technology was LONG forgotten... Bozo was captured by the Mejale Police aboard the Nirvana... But little did Mantis know that things were coming back to haunt him, Bozo had managed to force him through enough universes to cause dimensional problems... The Universes are colliding... And its up to Mantis to stop what had Bozo made him start...
